Manager of Madonna Girls' Secondary School, Umunze, Rev. Fr. Levi Ndubisi Ukor has called on students and parents of the institution to remain calm even as panic is being created in some quarters concerning the corona virus pandemic currently ravaging the world. He stated this in his message of hope dated 6th May, 2020 and which was made available to the school media team. According to him, "the corona virus pandemic does not signify an end of the world. Rather, it is a call for deeper union with God. So many saintly people found true relationship with God in the face of sufferings and struggles like this."
The cleric urged parents to utilize the period to also strengthen their relationship with their wards. In his words, parents should "be more present in the academic, spiritual and moral lives of their children. The period is a rare opportunity to achieve this." He added that parents should stand in as veritable teachers to the students, to complement the online lessons which the school will commence soon.
On the resumption of school, Fr. Ukor warned that no one should be deceived as no date has been announced in this regard. He informed that due communications will be made to the parents once a decision is taken.
